An Important Message from the Founder

ECS Nutrition Program

Our Chefs make an effort to introduce a variety of fresh fish monthly. These items can be found on the ECS lunch menu: Salmon, Tuna, Mahi, Skate, Monkfish, Cobia, Catfish Swordfish, and shrimp.

Evergreen Charter School follows all the guidelines put in place by the NYSED Child Nutrition Program to be in accordance with all the nutrition requirements. We strongly believe that a child who is not well-nourished does not learn.

Evergreen Charter School main objective is to give your children the most nutritious and healthy meals possible and making sure they are prepared in a way they will enjoy and satisfy them.

Promoting Eating Healthy at School

Evergreen Charter School strongly believes that kids learn better eating habits when school provides healthy foods. Therefore, we offer the following programs:

  • Ensure families get information about school meal programs. Meal menus are sent home each month. Parents also participate in healthy eating activities throughout the school year.
  • Encourage our students to start their learning day with a hot/cold and nutritions breakfast.
  • Give students enough time to eat their school lunch. We would like to give students enough time to enjoy their meal and to socialize.
  • We present the menu for the day during the morning assembly. We introduce the vegetable of the day explaining students why it is important for them to eat it.
