Resources
Google Classroom
At Evergreen Charter School, Google Classroom is the main platform used for students (Grades 3-9) to manage all their digital classes and assignments. Combined with the features of students’ school created Gmail accounts, students have access to their classes, assignments, and instructional resources from anywhere that has an internet connection. Google Classroom is an easy and convenient tool for students, parents, and teachers to efficiently manage student progress and provide feedback and communication.
Extra Help
In an effort to provide additional support in the areas of Math and Science the school will be offering extra help/homework help through Zoom beginning the week of March 1, 2021

Our Middle School program continues to advance the mission of Evergreen Charter School by preparing our children intellectually, socially, and emotionally as they transition through adolescence and into early adulthood.
WELCOME TO THE HIGH SCHOOL (GRADES 9-10)
For the 2021-2022 school year, the Middle School and the High School (Grades 5-10) are housed in the beautiful and historic St. Catherine of Sienna in Franklin Square, NY.

Clubs & Teams
Mandarin Language Club
Purpose: To learn Mandarin Chinese language
Highlights:
- Students are connected to a China-based teaching team who provides interactive live lessons
- Students communicate regularly with their teacher who can also show them what life in Beijing, China is like.
- Students and teachers have access to custom Learning Management System
Time: Wednesday 5:30pm – 6:30pm

Public Speaking Club (Grades 8 - 9)
Highlights:
- Helps students build confidence and courage, and communicate more effectively
- Combines social and emotional learning and positive mindset techniques with practical speaking skills training
- Professional athletes, actors and business leaders regularly speak with the students and share their personal stories and messages
Time: Tuesday (8 weeks) 4:30pm – 5:30pm

Visual Arts Club
Highlights:
- Gives students a chance to dive deeper into enhancing various art skills that may not be reached in art class
- Starts with building skills related to the elements and principles of art, moves into art material techniques, and finally focuses on developing students’ own unique artistic style
- Students can express their own individuality, build on their own interests, and meet like-minded students
Time: Tuesday 6:00pm – 7:00pm

Cheerleading Club
Highlights:
- Involves a sport that has organized cheering and dancing
- Involves a focus on different areas such as physical strength, endurance, and coordination, as well as building confidence and becoming a reliable team player
Time: Tuesday 4:00pm – 5:00pm

Music Club
Highlights:
- Guides students in musical exposure and learning a chosen instrument
- Provides close guidance from the teacher, allowing students to work on specific areas for faster string development
- Students expand their repertoire and address areas of concern, practice as an ensemble and develop a sense of community as part of an orchestra ensemble
Time: Wednesday 4:30pm – 5:30pm, Thursday 4:00pm – 5:30pm

Spanish Club
Purpose: To support students who are struggling with Spanish.
Highlights:
- Students will work on pending assignments in small groups with the support of the teacher.
- Students will have the opportunity to ask questions and solve doubts.
- Teachers will pre-teach and present content that will be covered in following lessons so students can familiarize themselves with the content and be more successful when back in class with the whole group.
Time: 4-5 pm and 4.45 to 5.15 pm
