English As A New Language
Evergreen Charter School English as a New Language (ENL) program is committed to educational excellence and continuous achievement for all English language learners.
The ENL program at Evergreen Charter School serves a little over 100 students. The ENL programs goal is to raise the English proficiency of all students in both communicative skills and academic language. The ENL teachers use the REACH program; which was designed by National Geographic and geared toward teaching ELL students grade appropriate Science and Social Studies using effective ELL strategies. In addition, the ENL teachers collaborate or co-teach with classroom teachers in different content areas such as reading and writing to develop appropriate instructional experiences to enable ENL students to attain their full potential.
