Homework Assistance Program

Purpose: Kindergarten and First Grade students are invited to join the Homework Help Program, also known as the Homework Club.

Highlights:

  • This program provides students with the opportunity to remain in school an additional hour to receive support with the completion of their homework.

Date: This program will begin Tuesday, November 2, 2022 and will run until the end of the school year.

Time: This program is held Monday through Thursday from 4:00p – 5:00pm.

O.S.C.A.R.S. ENVIRONMENTAL CLUB
O.S.C.A.R.S. – Environmental Club
(Our Students Can Always Reduce, Reuse & Recycle Something) 

The purpose of the club is to create an awareness of environmental issues, such as protection, conservation, preservation, and restoration, with an emphasis on educating and empowering students to help the Earth.

SPANISH CLUB

Purpose: Students have the opportunity to receive extra support for improving their Spanish language skills.

Highlights:

  • Through motivating and engaging activities, the students in the Spanish Club are provided with opportunities to interact and speak to club members, increase their understanding of the language, and receive assistance with classroom assignments.

SATURDAY SCHOOL

 

 Purpose: Kindergarten and First Grade students are invited to participate in our in-person Saturday School Program.

Highlights:

  • This program is designed to support your child in reading.
  • This program has a strong focus on foundational skills, sight words, phonemic awareness (the sounds of a word) and phonics (the relationship of sounds and letters to increase reading fluency).
  • The ability to read accurately, smoothly and with expression will result in increased comprehension.

Date: The program began Saturday, September 24, 2022 and will run until June 17, 2022.

Time: Three sessions are offered:

  • Kindergarten Session #1: 8:00am-10:00am
  • Kindergarten Session #2: 10:15am-12:15pm
  • First Grade Session: 8:30am-11:30am

STORYTIME WITH MS. CAMILLI

Purpose: to listen to stories with Ms. Camilli and learn about the elements of a story!

Highlights:

  • During the zoom sessions the children and Ms. Camilli will discuss: the characters, the setting, the plot, and problems and solutions in the story.
  • Parents will have the opportunity to observe reading strategies and questioning techniques.
